About Ali 

Welcome! I'm Ali Holmes, a digital artist specializing in memoir comics, graphic nonfiction, and art education. I am both a practicing artist and an educator.

 

I gained my BA in studio art and sociology through Whitman College, Walla Walla, WA in 2016. I gained my MiT through Western Washington University, WA in 2020. I gained my certificate in comics in 2024 through SAW in Gainesville, FL.

My future goals include writing a graphic memoir and hopefully getting it published. I'm currently working on a shorter graphic nonfiction piece about how to start your own union and hope to publish it later this year in 2024.

Outside of comics, my art practice includes ceramics and jewelry. You can find my work in Good Earth Pottery in Bellingham, WA and the Confluence Gallery in Twisp, WA.

I believe art is a form of communication and want to use my art to tell stories and build community power. Everyone has a story to tell and I'm ready to bring nonfiction comics to life. Let's create something beautiful together! Thank you for looking at my work.
